Conference in Italy Urges Europe’s Support for Al-Quds
A statement was issued at the end of the conference, in which the participants called for Europe’s support for Al-Quds, Al-Filistini Lil-Aalam website reported.
The statement underlined the need for commitment to supporting the rights of the Palestinian people, including the right of return for Palestinian refugees.
The participants urged governments, political decision-makers and institutions in Europe to help Al-Quds within the framework of international laws, UN resolutions and human rights laws and avoid adopting double standards in the face of occupation in different parts of the world.
They also stressed the need for Palestinians residing in European countries to coordinate their efforts in serving Al-Quds and drawing support for the holy city.
Titled “Al-Quds Is Ours”, the conference in Milan aimed to boost support for Al-Quds and highlight the ongoing Israeli aggressions on the Palestinian sanctities in the city.
According to Muhammad Hannoun, the head of Europeans for Al-Quds, the conference will be held annually to shed light on the suffering of the Al-Quds residents, calling on European governments to pressure Israel to stop its violations against Palestinians.
“Palestinians have the right to defend themselves,” Luigi Piccirillo, a member of the Council of the Italian Province of Lombardy, underlined at the conference, stressing the importance of the gathering in reporting the Palestinian developments.
